Lively LLC is pleased to announce that on Sunday, October 19, 2025, we will co-host a “Regenerative Agriculture: Seed-Sowing Experience Program” with Niko Niko Farm operated by the NPO ma,icca!! in Fujisawa City, Kanagawa, which practices regenerative agriculture. Participants will have the chance to engage in hands-on seed-sowing in the field and enjoy tasting vegetables harvested on the farm, reflecting on the future of food for the next generation, and learning about sustainable farming practices.
Regenerative agriculture* has been gaining attention globally as a method of farming that restores and revitalizes the environment. Niko Niko Farm in Fujisawa City is among Japan’s pioneers, implementing regenerative practices such as no-till farming—growing crops without using heavy machinery—and organic farming without chemical fertilizers or pesticides. Beyond farming, the farm actively hosts events and social inclusion initiatives, fostering community connections and promoting a vision of sustainable agriculture.
As part of our ongoing efforts to reduce food loss, Lively has planned this program to offer participants an opportunity to recognize how our food is intrinsically connected to nature and people. We were inspired by farm owner Hiroki Inoue’s vision of a “universal farm where everyone can engage with nature with dignity,” which has made this collaboration possible.
This program provides a tangible experience of regenerative agriculture. By participating in seed-sowing and enjoying meals prepared with the farm’s produce, attendees can physically engage with the relationships between food, nature, and people, moving beyond theoretical understanding to a truly immersive experience.
*Regenerative agriculture refers to farming practices that increase soil organic matter and restore soil health. Techniques include no-till farming, cover crops for soil recovery, and organic farming without chemical fertilizers or pesticides. No-till farming helps capture and retain carbon in the soil, making it an important approach for climate change mitigation.

We are delighted to co-host this seed-sowing experience with Niko Niko Farm. While conventional farming in Japan often relies on chemical fertilizers, pesticides, and heavy machinery, Niko Niko Farm nurtures vegetables using natural processes, staying true to the rhythms of nature. We hope participants can feel, firsthand, the living connections between people, soil, and other living beings, and truly experience what sustainable farming feels like.
Through this program, we also hope to inspire reflection on the future of food for the next generation, and encourage mindful choices in our everyday meals. We warmly invite everyone to come and enjoy this shared journey into sustainable agriculture.
