We are excited to announce that Professor Tsuyoshi Shimmura, an expert in Animal Welfare Science from the Graduate School of Agriculture at Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology, has joined Lively as an advisor starting on August 1, 2024. Professor Shimmura will bring his scientific expertise to help guide our commitment and enhance our impact on animal welfare in the field of sustainability business.
We have already had the pleasure of collaborating with Professor Shimmura on his long-held dream project, “Unshelled,” an animal-friendly poultry farming concept designed to prioritize animal welfare in future livestock farming. Since January 2024, we have been working together on a joint research initiative to develop an experiential education program that promotes animal welfare for both businesses and individuals.
With Professor Shimmura’s support, we look forward to deepening our dedication to animal welfare and advancing the “One Health, One Welfare” vision – a world where the well-being of animals, people, and our planet is in harmony.

I am very pleased and honored to join Lively as an advisor. Since Lively’s early days after its founding, I have engaged in many discussions with the team and have been deeply impressed by their dedication to promoting and advancing animal welfare.
I will support these efforts by sharing my scientific knowledge of animal welfare. I also look forward to working together with the Lively team to promote educational outreach and to help shape and realize the vision of “One Welfare.”
