Lively explored new business opportunities to address social issues using the technology of our client, a major equipment manufacturer. We examined how the company's technology would be integrated with social challenges and thereby clarified the direction for new business based on marketability and technological trends, leading to recommendations for commercialization.

Our client has expanded into new business areas to address social issues like biodiversity, one of its materialities, and achieve sustainable growth using its core technologies: it has sought for specific solutions for a medium-to-long-term technology policy and understanding market trends.
Lively identified the client’s technologies that contribute to biodiversity conservation and explored new business opportunities that take social issues into consideration. Based on this, we researched market and R&D trends in biodiversity-related services and made concrete proposals for promising business opportunities. Consequently, the direction for new businesses, combining technological potential with marketability was clarified to contribute to biodiversity conservation.
Toward creating new business for biodiversity conservation
As a result of this project, our client could develop a concrete business proposal by using its existing technologies to conserve biodiversity. This enabled direction of its new business in consideration of the future marketability and technology trends and provided a foundation for its implementation. Additionally, a path to enhance competitiveness for sustainable growth and address social issues has been identified.
